About this notice
Last updated: 26 October 2026
Thrive Together Counselling is Serina Richards’ counselling practice in Wellingborough. Serina Richards is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, email serina@thrivetogethercounselling.co.uk or call 07938 399253.
This notice explains website enquiries and general privacy arrangements. Before counselling begins, Serina will discuss confidentiality, record keeping, safeguarding and any services used for your sessions with you.
Information you share
The enquiry form asks for your name, email address, an optional phone number, your preferred way of meeting and an optional message. You do not need to give a detailed history or describe distressing experiences to arrange a consultation. Please share only what is needed for your enquiry.
Information about health, sexuality, ethnicity, beliefs or other sensitive matters can need additional protection. The form asks for your explicit consent if you choose to include sensitive information. You can instead request a call and discuss what is needed directly with Serina.
The website also processes technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, browser information, access times and cookie choices.
Why information is used
Enquiry details are used to reply to you, arrange a consultation and take steps you request before entering a counselling agreement. This relies on the contractual steps basis under UK GDPR. Necessary security and administration rely on legitimate interests in operating a safe, reliable website. Cookie consent records help demonstrate that your choices are respected.
If you voluntarily include special-category information in your initial enquiry, the basis for using that information to respond is your explicit consent. You can withdraw that consent by contacting Serina. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Where information must be kept for safeguarding, legal duties or legal claims, a relevant legal basis and special-category condition will apply instead.
Optional cookies require your consent. Enquiry details are not used to add you to marketing lists. There is no automated decision-making or profiling through the consultation form.
Who can access it
Website enquiries are emailed to Serina at the practice address. The form is configured without a separate website submissions database, and email-body logging is disabled. Website, email and technical support providers may process information to supply their services. Code & Bloom maintains this website and may have authorised technical access when needed.
Personal information is not sold. Only information needed for a particular task should be shared. If disclosure is necessary to meet a legal obligation or protect someone from a serious risk of harm, Serina will consider what is appropriate and proportionate and discuss it with you where possible.
Links to professional directories lead to independent websites with their own privacy notices. If a service involves access outside the UK, appropriate transfer safeguards are required; contact Serina for details of the providers and safeguards relevant to your care.
Keeping information and keeping it safe
Enquiries that do not lead to counselling are normally deleted within six months of the last contact. If counselling begins, the information needed for your care becomes part of your client record and is covered by the counselling agreement and privacy information given at the start.
The default record-keeping schedule is seven years after the final counselling session. For a client under 18, records are kept until their 25th birthday or seven years after the final session, whichever is later. Records may need to be kept longer where a safeguarding matter, legal obligation, complaint or claim requires it. Serina should confirm any different insurer or service-specific requirement with you at the start of the work.
Your cookie choice lasts up to 180 days. Cookie-consent records are set to be removed after 365 days. Hosting security logs and backups follow the hosting provider’s retention and rotation arrangements; contact Serina for further details.
The website uses HTTPS and encrypted SMTP for sending email to the practice mail server. Access to personal information should be limited to those who need it. Email is not a suitable place to send an extensive confidential history, and no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices, rights and concerns
You can ask to see your personal information, correct it, delete it where appropriate, restrict its use or receive a portable copy where the right applies. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where it is relied on. Some rights have exceptions, including where records need to be retained for legal reasons.
Contact Serina using the details above. Proof of identity may be needed before information is released. Requests are normally answered within one month, subject to the lawful extensions that can apply.
If you are a young person, Serina will explain privacy and confidentiality in a way you can understand and discuss when a parent, carer or another professional may need to be involved. You can ask questions at any time.
If you are concerned, please contact Serina first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Read our Cookie Policy for browser settings and optional-cookie choices.
